Discovering Healthier Indulgences: Three Nut-Based Naturally Sweet Snacks

As I continue to prioritize my health, I've decided to reduce three common ingredients in my diet: sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Although I don't have any diagnosed hormonal issues, I've noticed that cutting down on these ingredients has helped me stabilize my mood, monthly cycles, and appetite. However, I still like to treat myself, so I'm always on the lookout for healthy snacks that provide sustained energy.

Unfortunately, it's challenging to find low-sugar or sugar-free packaged snacks, as I discovered during my recent visits to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. I was surprised by how many supposedly "healthy" options contained hidden sugars and were, in reality, not so healthy.

Thankfully, my search ended positively when I discovered three nut-based snacks that are both healthy and delicious. Nuts are an excellent source of healthy fats that can lower blood pressure and promote gut health.

One of my favorite finds was Ground Up's Chunky Almond, Cashew + Coconut Nut Butter, which is made by a women-owned company based in Portland. This nut butter has zero sugar but still has a sweet taste that pairs well with whole wheat toast or dates.

Another excellent option is Trader Joe's Slightly Coated Dark Chocolate Almonds, which satisfy my chocolate cravings with only 3g of added sugar. The blend of salty and sweet flavors makes these almonds taste like a candy treat without the excess sugar.

Lastly, I highly recommend Larabar's Cashew Cookie, made with only two ingredients: dates and cashews.

When I crave peanut butter cups without the added sugar, I enjoy the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor. These three treats allow me to indulge in a healthy way without consuming excessive amounts of sugar and saturated fat. Enjoy these delicious and nutritious snacks!
